These city and state leaders will share their ideas for modernizing procurement and civic finance practices through a lens of equity and transparency in order to help local women-owned and minority-owned businesses thrive in Maryland. City Comptroller Bill Henry will share his plan for improving Baltimore City Board of Estimates and other Comptroller-managed city functions. Brooke Lierman will discuss her platform for MD Comptroller with a focus on supporting small businesses. Delegate Stephanie Smith will talk about her proposed legislation for the creation of a public state bank. All of the panelists will discuss how their work centers equity and serves as a national model for civic finance reform.
