2022 marks a full decade since Technical.ly began covering Baltimore's tech, entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem. As CEO Chris Wink wrote in a recent retrospective, "Technical.ly’s goal was simple: narrate, challenge and help connect the growing efforts to modernize Baltimore’s economy — and do it with a journalistic approach." A lot has happened to Technical.ly and Baltimore in that time (including a foundational role in Baltimore Innovation Week's inception!), but the focus on community journalism about Baltimore's tech and startup ecosystem remains. This panel features former and current Baltimore-focused Technical.ly journalists speaking about their respective tenures, the past decade's ups and downs and what it all means for Baltimore's present and future. None of this perspective would've been possible without the local community's enthusiastic support for our work, so this panel is as much a celebration of our role in this scene as yours in helping us thrive.
